It’s 23 years since Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy rocked our worlds as the Sanderson sisters, brought back to life one fateful Halloween night in Salem, Massachusetts.
While we periodically get ridiculously excited at the prospect of a sequel (which may still be happening), the attention is always focused on the witches.
But there were three other stars too… and here’s what they looked like then, and what they look like now.
Played by Omri Katz – now 40
Katz was quite the child star. As well as his role in Hocus Pocus, Omri landed a role in legendary 80s soap Dallas and played the lead in the fantastically freaky Eerie, Indiana.
After Hocus Pocus, he starred in six episodes of The John Larroquette Show before he largely disappeared from public life. He appeared in one episode of Judd Apatow’s 1999 cult classic Freaks and Geeks, but his last credited on screen role was the shot film Journey Into Night in 2002.
Played by Thora Birch – now 34
Thora came to Hocus Pocus after steady roles in Day by Day and Parenthood. After her turn as Dani, she landed roles in hits like Now and Then and American Beauty. Her last credited movie role was in 2012’s comedy/drama Petunia, alongside Brittany Snow and Tobias Segal.
She’s got a few projects lined up which are currently in post-production.
Played by Vinessa Shaw – Now 40
Alison was the object of Max’s affection in the 1993 classic and she’s still a stunner today. The actress has worked consistently since her turn in Hocus Pocus, with roles in Eyes Wide Shut, 40 Days and 40 Nights and 3:10 to Yuma.
In more recent years, she’s taken on roles in TV projects, starring in Vegas and Ray Donovan.
