Do you remember Bridgit Mendler? The Disney channel star?

Well if you don’t let’s jog your memory; she played Teddy in Good Luck Charlie, Olivia in Lemonade Mouth and even had a reoccurring in Wizards of Waverly Place for a while.

On the side she managed to have a very successful music career, releasing her hit song Ready or Not before she seemed to go quiet – but she was busy behind the scenes.

She embarked on an education journey at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she was a student and researcher with the MIT Media Lab.

After earning a PhD from MIT, she attended Harvard Law School.

Yet that’s not even the half of it, she’s been making headlines again now she’s the CEO of a space startup – no that’s not a typo.

So, let’s take a look at Bridgit’s career from the start to where she is now.

Though Bridgit had been in several movies and TV shows, it was when she joined Disney Channel that we all started to take note.

In 2009, she became a recurring character in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place where she played Justin’s girlfriend Juliette.

She appeared in 11 episodes in the series, which ended in 2012.

From there, she became the star of Good Luck Charlie in 2010 in which is played an older sister recording video diaries for her younger sister, Charlie.

The following year, Bridgit starred as Olivia White in the lead role in the Disney Channel original movie Lemonade Mouth.

Bridgit first made her mark on the music industry after contributing to the soundtrack of Lemonade Mouth in 2011.

After signing with Hollywood Records, she released her debut studio album, Hello My Name Is…, the following year which peaked at number 30 on the Billboard 200.

The actress then released two additional EPs, Live in London and Nemesis.

“I feel like I’ve poured the most of myself of anything I’ve done into this project. That’s been a very therapeutic process,” she told MTV News when she released Nemesis in 2016.

“You add layers to who you are, add different textures and colours. Maybe some are more dark and unfamiliar, but then that winds up being a new way we can know each other.”

The actress decided to take a step back from her music career in favour of heading back to school.

Bridgit earned a degree in anthropology in 2016 while studying at the University of Southern California but she wasn’t done there – if degrees were Pokemon she decided to catch them all.

In May 2018, the former Disney star announced on X that she started a graduate program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a focus on improving social media.

From here, she completed an M.S. in media arts and sciences at MIT and is now working toward receiving her Ph. D. from the institution.

Even at that, she’s not done with her growing collection of degrees. In 2021 she enrolled in Harvard Law School to obtain her Juris Doctorate which she should receive sometime in 2024.

Tying the knot

According to Nicki Swift, Bridgit and her husband, Griffin Cleverly, started dating way back in 2017 and got engaged two years later, in April 2019.

The couple had a beautiful beach wedding in October of the same year, surrounded by friends and family.

Bridgit shared a picture of her and Cleverly in their wedding outfits, smiling and holding each other while walking on the beach.

Becoming a mother and a CEO

The Good Luck Charlie alum, 31, revealed on X that she recently became a mom after adopting a 4-year-old son.

“The other news I wanted to share is I’m a mama to a sweet 4yo boy,” she wrote on the platform. “Started fostering in 202, adopted near Christmas of 2022.”

“I’m so lucky — being a parent is the biggest gift and most defining experience there is,” the mother of one wrote before adding, “That’s my news for now folks.”

Earlier that day, Bridgit announced that she will serve as the CEO of Northwood Space, a startup on a mission to create a “data highway between Earth and space.”

How does she get the time for all this?
