Born in High Wycombe on June 13th, 1990, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was raised by his stay-at-home mother Sarah, and civil engineer father Robert Johnson.

Alongside his older sister Gemma, he grew up in the Buckinghamshire market town and attended Holmer Green Senior School as well as the Jackie Palmer Stage School.

He began acting at six years old and appeared in his first film, The Apocalypse, alongside the late Richard Harris when he was just ten.

In a 2019 interview, Taylor-Johnson described the impact that choosing acting as a career had on him from a young age.

He said: “I worked in an adult environment from an early age; I had open, direct conversations with directors, producers, and actors, where my opinions would be valued and matter. I grew up pretty quickly – I left school at 15.”

Aaron may only be 33 years of age but he’s been married for a hot second.

He met his wife, filmmaker Sam Taylor-Wood when he was just 18 and she was 42 when they worked together on the film Nowhere Boy.

Sam previously told Harper’s Bazaar they remained “very professional” on the production and didn’t start dating until after the project had finished filming.

Their relationship has garnered a lot of attention over the years due to their gap which is something Aaron previously branded “intrusive”.

Addressing their 23-year gap, he said, “When I met Sam I’d already lived a life far beyond that of most of my contemporaries – I didn’t relate to anyone my age. I just feel that we’re on the same wavelength.”

The two married in 2012 and have two daughters together, Wylda Rae and Romy Hero.

The two also parent Sam’s daughters Jessie and Angelica from her previous marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling.

The couple renewed their vows recently

The couple celebrated their love with a vow renewal ceremony on June 21st, 2022.

Aaron shared a photo of himself kissing his wife on Instagram and wrote: “Yesterday was the most beautiful day, summer solstice, our 10th anniversary…

“We renewed our vows to one another and confessed our love in front of our nearest and dearest friends and family it was a celebration of love and joy!

“A decade of marriage. It was a magical unforgettable day and the sun did not stop shining on us both. we are blessed beyond belief. Sammy, you are my love, my life, my soulmate, my wife, my world!”

So sweet we just got a cavity.
