“It’s changed her forever.”
Coronation Street’s Katie McGlynn had admitted Sinead Tinker will always have fears about the future, as she is set to get the results of her cancer treatment next week.
In scenes set to air next week, Sinead and her husband Daniel Osbourne go to a hospital appointment together for an important update.
And while the constant tells Sinead that her tumour is shrunk, and there’s no evidence that it has spread, she confides in Daniel that she’s still scared her cancer could return.
Speaking about Sinead’s reaction to the news, McGlynn told Digital Spy:
“I think once you’ve been diagnosed with cancer it never leaves you and Sinead says that’s how she feels to Beth.
“It’s always going to be in the back of Sinead’s mind, no matter how happy she is, no matter how far down the line she is because the reality is, it can come back.
“Sinead feels upset for admitting it because she feels like she should be feeling a sense of relief, but she isn’t.
“She has accepted the fact that she has had cancer, and it’s always going to be in the back of her head. She will never go back to how she was before. It’s changed her forever.”
And when the couple postpone a holiday in the Scottish borders, Daniel decides to propose to Sinead again – this time, telling her they should legally get married.
On Sinead’s reaction to the proposal, McGlynn added:
“She thinks it’s sweet and she is very touched.
“After everything that has happened to them as a couple, it means a lot to her that Daniel says it all over again, because it solidifies how much they love each other and she is overwhelmed with love.”
