Sinead O’Connor fans have been questioning why the memorial outside of the singer’s childhood home in Co. Wicklow has disappeared.
The 56-year-old sadly passed away in July of this year and a memorial was erected and trended to at the Bray property where Sinead grew up by devoted fans to honour her and express their grief.
The shrine included cards, letters, stones with messages of condolence, as well as a pink chair that was similar to the one the Irish songstress used to sit on, placed by over 6,000 fans following her death, have all vanished from the memorial site.
This left many wondering where and why there were moved to?
“Where have all our mementoes gone? What harm were the tributes doing?” one fan posted on social media.
It was confirmed later that the tributes were removed to keep them safe in the hope of using them in a permanent tribute to Sinead O’Connor in her hometown of Bray, according to The Sun.
The Nothing Compares 2U singer was found dead in London on July 26th, 2023, and her death wasn’t treated as suspicious.
In a statement announcing the tragic news, her family said:
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinead. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”
