She said she wishes Diana was at her daughter’s wedding.

There’s been a lot of momentus celebrations within the royal family over the past few years. Between the marriages of Kate and William, as well as Harry and Meghan, we’ve also seen the births of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Most recent, Princess Eugenie married her longtime love Jack Brooksbank which followed closely by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announcing that they are expecting their first child.

And now, in her first interview in 20 years, Sarah Ferguson – who divorced but still lives with Prince Andrew in Windsor Castle – said that she wishes her good friend Princess Diana was still here to witness it all.

Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, Sarah said: “I thought of absent friends and family; of Diana — but she’s with me all the time. What I miss most is her tinkling laughter.

“Diana was my best friend and the funniest person I knew. She had such timing and wit. It was a total joy to be with her because we just laughed and enjoyed life so much, and I know she would have loved the wedding.”

She also mentioned her former husband, saying: “We’re the happiest divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other. We both say it. We are completely compatible. Our bywords are communication, compromise and compassion.”

She added that her wedding day was the best day of her life and she thinks Andrew is a great man.
