The show has been off the air for six years!

ITV bosses have reportedly paid millions to bag some big names for the return of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.

The show, which confirmed its return in October, is set to air this year after a six-year hiatus.

For its comeback, show bosses have allegedly dropped over €2 million to secure stars such as Rebekah Vardy, Louis Walsh, and Sarah Ferguson (Fergie).

Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed that a lot of planning has gone into who will appear on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ for its relaunch.

“The team behind the programme are being clever about the kind of celebs they’re considering,” the TV insider told the outlet.

“They don’t just want big names in there — they want stars who will bring something truly intriguing.

“Louis is just the kind of figure they want in the house — someone with serious life experience who not only has something to say, but isn’t afraid to say it.”

ITV bosses are keen to deliver ‘some of the most outstanding moments of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and believe these names will make for perfect viewing.

The source added that they see Rebekah, Louis, and Sarah as ‘a worthwhile investment’.

“They want this to be on a par with I’m A Celebrity, which has a similarly claustrophobic environment involving celebrities completing strange challenges under the glare of the public eye,” the insider concluded.

This comes following reports that Rebekah was ‘dropped’ from the potential lineup of stars set to appear on the upcoming series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ after ITV’s interest in her participation was leaked.

A source told The UK Mirror: “Bosses were prepared to splash out on signing up Becky in the hope she’d dish all on the Wagatha Christie drama.

“She was at the top of their lists but since the news leaked they have decided to explore other candidates.”

As of now, no contestants have been confirmed for ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
