Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, even with their new status as non-working royals, are still the most bankable for news, it’s been revealed
According to a new study by JeffBet.com, who analysed the value of traffic the most written-about married couples have brought to online media publications over the past three months.
It evaluated the number of new articles featuring said couples, from around the world, and measured how much their readership is worth, based on estimates from online SEO tools, and found that the former working royals take the top spot.
Rounding out the top three are Beyoncé and Jay-Z, followed by Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
Despite being the second most written-about couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton rank at number four in terms of how much traffic value they bring to those articles.
Meanwhile, King Charles III and Queen Camilla trail shortly behind them meaning three out of five of the top couples are British royals. Beyoncé being a queen of an entirely different sort, of course.
No celebrity couple comes close to how valuable Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are to news publications today. The couple produced a combined value of $1,511,454 in website traffic alone during a three-month period.
They total 36,303 mentions in new articles – the most of all celebrity couples in the world. In fact, Prince Harry is the most valuable personality to write news articles about among all married couples.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the second most newsworthy couple by traffic value, with 31,646 mentions in the news. Beyoncé is currently 3.4 times more valuable to the media than Jay-Z (hello, Renaissance? Are we shocked? No.)
The rest of the top ten features David and Victoria Beckham with 18,136 new mentions, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively with 10,376, Justin and Hailey Bieber with 11,113, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith with 9,791 and our all time faves, forever loves Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson with 7,938 mentions.
