Today, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child.Â
The news was announced today via the Sussex Royal Instagram page saying that the couple had, indeed, welcomed a baby boy.
“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz,” a statement reads.

And today, from Windsor, a beaming Prince Harry spoke to media revealing his excitement to now be the father of a little boy.
“I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy.”

Continuing, the new dad spoke about childbirth and how truly delighted he is, saying:
“It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.
“How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we’re both absolutely thrilled.
“We’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it’s been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.”

According to the palace, The Queen as well as Prince Charles have also been informed and were “delighted” with the news.
The baby boy will be seventh in line to the throne and the Queen’s eighth grandchild.
