Well, this is a first.
The royal family are known for breaking protocol and changing the way things are done. However, usually, it’s Meghan wearing a tracksuit or Kate venturing off route to meet fans, it’s not often, in fact, ever really that we hear the queen is breaking tradition.
But, in the latest published photo of Queen Elizabeth, we see a more casual side to the royal that we’ve never seen before. In an undated photo, the queen can be seen casually posing, laughing and keeping her hands in her pockets – something we’ve never seen before.

And yes, this was a deliberate pose and Her Royal Highness wasn’t just caught off-guard, there was an actual reason before the pose, apparently.
Hello! magazine were the ones who published the photo and revealed it was to coincide with the release of royal dressmaker Angela Kelly’s new book The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser, and the Wardrobe.
According to Angela’s new book, the queen always wanted to be photographed more casually (although it was very frowned upon) and so, Angela asked her to do so, posing with her hands in her pockets.
The queen agreed and voila, we have this photo.
Speaking in her book, Kelly wrote:
“The Queen looked at me in amazement as I asked whether she knew the potential implications of the photographs. She didn’t take long to answer: yes, she would do it and, yes, she was sure.”
The queen looks so happy and inviting in these shots and Twitter is loving her new “relatable” look.
