Mel B has set the record straight following rumours that her husband of seven years, Stephen Belafonte, had allegedly hit her.
The X Factor judge spoke about the allegations while out shopping in LA this week.
“No, my husband didn’t hit me,” she stated to the Mirror Online. “No I didn’t get held hostage
“Me and my husband are madly in love.”
A source added, “Stephen and Mel feel like someone out there has a vendetta against them.”
“They’re both really confused about the rumours that have been flying around, and who started them,” the insider continued.
“They had a small rocky patch before Christmas but are completely sorted and happy again now.”
Rumours about the couple’s relationship began after Mel B sparked concern when she was rushed to hospital around the time of the X Factor final.
Both Mel and her husband Stephen took to social media at the time to deny the rumours.
