Angelina Jolie has been named ‘The Most Admired Woman In the World’.
The actress and director beat international activist Malala Yousafzai to the title, based on a poll carried out by market research agency YouGov.
Nobel Prize winner Yousafzai took second place, ahead of Hilary Clinton, Queen Elizabeth II and Michelle Obama, who made up the top five.
Celine Dion, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, politician Aung San Suu Kyi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel were also said to be among the top ten most admired.
A poll on admired men found Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates take the top spot, ahead of President Barack Obama, Chinese President Xi Jinping and martial artist Jackie Chan.
The research included responses from 25,000 people in 23 countries.
