Kate Micucci played the character of Lucy in the hit sitcom
Kate Micucci has revealed to fans that she has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
The star told followers that her diagnosis came as a “surprise” and said she has “never smoked a cigarette” in her life.
The 43-year-old actor, who is best-known for starring in Big Bang Theory, took to TikTok to share the news.
Micucci told her followers that she is “all good” after having undergone surgery related to the illness and said it has thankfully been caught “really early”.
The actress videoed herself lying in a hospital bed, as she explained: “Hey everybody, this is not a TikTok, it’s a ‘Sick Tok’. I’m in the hospital but it’s because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday. They caught it really early.
“It’s pretty weird, because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so uh, you know, it was a surprise.
“But also I guess, also, it happens and so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out, I’m all good.
“But it’s been a little bit of a trip and I’ll probably be moving slow for a few weeks, but then I’ll be back at it.”
Micucci went on to say that she looks forward to being able to paint again and then joked that her rambling was down to the fact that she’s ‘on drugs’ following her surgery.
The clip then cuts to her strolling through the hospital in a gown, with an IV in tow.
