Jeremy Clarkson has responded to his suspension from the BBC, amid allegations that he physically assaulted a producer on the show in a row over catering.
It was announced yesterday that Top Gear will not be aired this Sunday and the controversial presenter has been suspended by the broadcaster pending an investigation into a “fracas” involving a producer.
Unconfirmed reports have since emerged suggesting that the row was caused by a lack of catering during filming, with The Mirror claiming that Clarkson “snapped” after finding that “no food had been laid on” after a long day of filming on location.
He has since taken to his Twitter account to respond to the claims, even speculating with co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May about what might be screened in Top Gear‘s place.
Sorry Ed. It seems I knocked your “I’m a human” piece down the news agenda.

@MrJamesMay @RichardHammond I did some pretty good war documentaries. They could screen one of those.

The Sun is also reporting that Clarkson, who is one of their columnists, has said “I’m having a nice cold pint and waiting for this to blow over”.
