A Lizzie McGuire sequel is officially in the works.
There has been talk of this happening for quite some time but last night it was finally confirmed with Hilary Duff posting what might just be the best Instagram ever, judging from the fan reaction anyway.
The 31-year-old actress took to her account and shared a little compilation video of some familiar show scenes, writing:
“SURPRISE!!! I’ve been trying to contain this excitement for a loooong time while this has been in the works! I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl ♥️…and into her 30’s”.
Hilary also included a few hashtags at the bottom of her post and our favourite has to be her request to bring back butterfly clips…let’s make them 2020’s hair accessory replacing 2019’s pearl slide.
Judging by the hysteria from my friends and colleagues, this is one show reboot that people are very much excited about and we know Her readers are completely obsessed too.
According to reports, the new series will see Lizzie working in her dream job in New York, we’ll also see her love life and how she adores shopping…a millennial Carrie Bradshaw?
Speaking about the reboot at Disney’s D23 Expo, the mum of two explained that Lizzie would have a bigger budget for a shoe collection this time around.
The series will be available on the brand new, coming soon Disney+ streaming service, yet another reason to sign up and fear not because Lizzie’s animated, alter ego will also feature in the reboot.
The fan reaction has been insane too, check out the below tweets…
