The producers of Love Island haven’t won themselves many fans this series.
From editing blunders, complaints to the British broadcast regulator about upsetting contestants to outright accusations of racial prejudice, it’s been a whole summer of fans of the show giving out stink about the people who make the show.
The latest thing that viewers are up in arms about is the fact that Georgia and Sam have been forced to leave the show.
The pair were told earlier this week that they could only stay in the villa if they chose to split and be single.
They stayed and tried to move on with other Islanders but neither of their hearts were in it.
At last night’s recoupling they refused to recouple with anyone else and were booted from the island.
Given that recouplings have traditionally been used to weed out contestants who haven’t found love, those watching at home were fairly unhappy.
Bit confused… it’s love island – Georgia and Sam have found ‘love’ yet have to leave the island…. ? surely that is a bit backwards? #LoveIsland

That situation with Georgia and Sam is so stupid? Like it’s love island and they’re being kicked off because they found love??? #loveisland

Georgia & Sam having to leave love island because they’re in LOVE is so ridiculous #loveisland

Interesting situation with Georgia&Sam! Dumped asap for choosing love yet we’ve been trying to bin Megan since forever and she’s been forced on us and kept in by producers at every opportunity ? drama island never mind love island this year ? #loveisland

Love Island: “we’re a show about helping to find love”
Georgia and Sam: “we’re falling for each other” #loveisland : pic.twitter.com/URxOsU7dqs

i don’t understand why #loveisland have sent georgia and sam home! nobody else in that villa has had an ultimatum to either break up or leave, i really don’t think it’s fair that they miss a chance of winning because they’ve been told they can’t be together in there..? ? mean

We’d have to agree – we’ve seen couples being kicked off the show together in the past but this is the first time a couple that appear to genuinely like one another have been forcibly separated on Love Island.
Either way, it means that the race for the £50,000 prize has just gotten that bit closer.
