A brand new show, The Derry Girls, started on Channel 4 last night.
Written by Lisa McGee, the first episode of the six-part series aired last night. Centring around the Troubles in Derry City in the ’90s, the series features Tommy Tiernan and a host of newcomers.
It also stars Peter Campion of Love/Hate, Red Water and Sing Street fame.
The soundtrack and one liners from the trailer already had people interested and they were pleased to see it translated on screen last night.
The show got a huge response online with the hashtag #DerryGirls going viral across Ireland and the UK.
