Planes with Vote Leave banners attached flew over the service that was held to remember the murdered MP.
The British politician was tragically murdered by Thomas Mair last week.
In honouring her, her widowed husband Brendan was reportedly giving a speech celebrating the deceased when planes supporting Vote Leave flew over the memorial.
In Trafalgar Square, London, crowds gathered to pay their respects to the Labour MP following her sudden death, leaving her two children Lejla and Cuillin grieving for their mother.
According to Metro, Brendan Cox was giving an impassioned speech about his wife, saying she was nothing without her beliefs and if she were still alive, she’d be campaigning for a Remain vote in the Brexit referendum.
Jo Cox was a known advocate for the rights of refugees and her stellar work for Vote Remain made her one of the country’s most hard-working politicians.
At the event, spectators were left hurt and angry at the sight of Vote Leave planes flying over the perimeter of Trafalgar Square.
Unbelievably disrespectful for @vote_leave to fly over Trafalgar Sq with banners as we gather to remember Jo Cox. pic.twitter.com/qjm1tz7QRy

As well as being incredibly disrespectful, flying a leave banner over Jo Cox’s tribute is about as stupid as it gets publicity wise.

One spectator, Barton Creeth told of his shock at seeing the planes at the emotional service.
“I looked at it and thought, that doesn’t make any sense…
“Does that really say Vote Leave? And so I tried to get a picture of it.
“But then it flew over a second time during another moment during the memorial service, and then it flew over a third time and I just couldn’t believe it.”
The Vote Leave campaign have not yet commented on the matter.
