In the Republic we may have marriage equality but for LGBT couples in Northern Ireland, the fight to gain their right to marriage is continuing.
According to Irish Legal News, a judgement is expected after Christmas.
Grainne Close and Shannon Sickles (pictured) and Chris and Henry Flanagan-Kanem were the two first couple to receive a civil partnership in Northern Ireland 10 years ago and wish to have the right to marry that is available both in the Republic and rest of the UK.
The Belfast High Court was told by Justice John O’ Hara that he would give his judgement after Christmas.
The case centres around whether the current rules in NI violate the European Convention On Human Rights.
