Ticketmaster site crashes as UK Taylor Swift fans rush to buy presale tickets

Taylor Swift, The Eras Tour

Taylor Swift’s fans across the UK managed to crash the Ticketmaster site as presale kicked off for some of her 2024 dates.

Presale tickets to Swift’s The Eras Tour went on sale at 11:00 am on Monday to select fans who pre-ordered her Midnights album.

However, from 10:00 am onwards, fans began taking to social media to report issues with the website.

Those who bought Swift’s album between August 29th, 2022 and October 27th of the same year were sent an email with a unique code to purchase early tickets.

However, due to phenomenal demand the shows had to be staggered on the Ticketmaster website in order to avoid the site crashing.

The 11:00 am pre-sale tickets were for the June 21st date at Wembley, London and June 7th date at BT Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh.

More tickets will go on sale at 1:00 pm today for Wembley’s August 15th date and BT Murrayfield’s June 8th date.

Then at 3:00 pm, fans will have the chance to buy pre-sale tickets for the June 9th concert at Edinburgh’s BT Murrayfield Stadium.

Frantic fans have been taking to Twitter to complain about the errors occurring while trying to get tickets, and one wrote: “F YOU TICKETMASTER. I got straight through, was selecting my tickets and then it threw me out, wouldn’t let me back in the queue and now there’s 37,976 people in front of me.”

Another posted: “How are people getting into the waiting room for taylor swift tickets??? i’m not even getting the option???? hello ticketmaster pls help”

A third added: “Ticketmaster chucking me out as soon as I was about to pay has really pissed over my cornflakes.”

Fans in Ireland with a presale code will be able to purchase tickets for Dublin at staggered times on July 14.
