Sunday Sessions // Orla Gartland

Orla performs a stunning 80s mashup.

Just quality.

Next up to play JOE and Her.ie’s Sunday Sessions is Irish singer-songwriter Orla Gartland.

Fresh off the back of her performance at our Sunday Sessions Live 2 at Whelans last month, we were so excited to invite Orla back for a session.

The twenty-year-old, who celebrated completing her Leaving Cert with a sell-out tour of the UK and Ireland (as you do), started posting covers to YouTube six years ago, and made serious waves.

The self-confessed “ginger nutcase” soon showed off her chops as an original artist – her debut single Devil on My Shoulder went straight into the Irish iTunes chart and she has gone from strength to strength since then.

She released her second EP, Lonely People, earlier this year and embarked on her first headliner tour of the U.S. with a folk pop sound that rubs shoulders with the likes of Joni Mitchell, Regina Spektor and Imogen Heap.

Orla performed her single Lonely People and did an amazing 80s mashup of Kate Bush and Cyndi Lauper’s biggest hits.
