Adele will not be performing at this year’s Glastonbury festival.

That’s according to organiser Emily Eavis, who spoke out today in response to a slew of rumours that the Someone Like You singer would be taking to stage at Worthy Farm this June.

While the Foo Fighters were confirmed earlier this week as the headline act for the Friday night of the festival, Eavis has categorically denied that Adele will be among the other high-profile acts confirmed to appear.

“That’s not true. That’s the only denial I will do,” she told The Sun.

“I would love Adele. To have Adele would be a complete dream, but she’s not going to be here this year.”

The notorious private singer, who welcomed son Angelo with partner Simon Konecki in 2012, had previously spoken of her anxiety around festival crowds and seemingly ruled out a performance at the iconic event.

“The thought of an audience that big frightens the life out of me. I don’t think the music would work, either. It’s all too slow. I’d hate to book a festival and have a f****** anxiety attack and then not go on stage, do you know what I mean?”
