Learner drivers all over the country will be extremely interested to hear the latest findings of a new survey which reveals the test centres with the best success rates in the country.
The Irish Times carried out a survey of 48 different driving test centres around the country and the results are pretty interesting.
Coming in first place between the years 2010 and 2013 was Ennis, Co. Clare which had an average success rate of 68.1 per cent.
Sligo came in second place, with Tuam, Clifden and Roscommon making up the remainder of the top five.
The results below show the figures from 2013 only.
Elsewhere in 2013, there were low results in particular for Kilkenny, Kilrush and Finglas.
Over the three-year period, the general Dublin area had one of the lowest pass rates, with Rathgar coming in at the lowest.
Other findings show that male drivers had a higher success rate, while younger drivers were also more likely to have a higher chance of success.
Explaining the reason the West was proving to be the best, Dave Fay of the Irish School of Motoring told The Irish Times: “If you look at places like Ennis or Sligo they don’t have the same volume of traffic or technical issues like roundabouts or traffic lights.”
Meanwhile Wicklow has the highest pass rate for the theory test while Kilkenny has the lowest.
