Work can be tough at the best of times but add in heavy rain in the middle of summer and it’s no wonder the day tends to drag.
With that in mind, we’ve come up with a few ways of making your day go faster.
ALWAYS have something to look forward to
Plan a little treat at some stage of your day. A coffee to wake you up before you start or your favourite lunch to make the morning struggle pass a little quicker.
Get out of the office
Although a heavy workload can mean you feel obligated to stay in the office until you get through it, breaks are essential.
Make sure to get out of the office for some fresh air regardless of the weather. If you don’t, the day will DRAG.
Write a to-do list
Having a list where you can physically cross things off as you go will get you in the zone.
There’s a little sense of achievement in every tick. We swear by this one.
Make plans for the evening
You’re in work now but come the evening, you’re free as a bird and there are so many things you can do with your down time.
Catch up with a friend, go to the gym, have a cinema date or you know… watch some Netflix in your PJ’s with a tub of Ben and Jerry’s.
Have a laugh
Whether it’s sharing a funny story or playing a joke on your desk buddy, there’s a lot to be said for a good giggle. It cheers you up and hopefully it will have the same effect on the rest of the office.
Take regular breaks
Even if it’s simply to stretch your legs or grab a glass of water, getting away from your desk (and computer screen) is essential.
Five minutes can make all the difference when the mid evening slump is getting you down.
Sneaky shop
Now we’re not advising you while away your work day perusing the joys of internet shopping BUT if you get through your allotted workload, surely there’s nothing wrong with planning next weekend’s look?

Look ahead to the weekend
Okay, so it might be the start of the week and Friday feels like an age away. That said, having something in the diary proves there’s light at the end of the dark weekly tunnel.
Notification central
Keeping up to date with your various social networks (on your breaks, of course) is one way of passing time.
By the time you’ve caught up with your Twitter feed, untagged a heap of Facebook photos, used Instagram to filter a few of the decent ones, the day will be half over. Result.
Make use of the internet
Whether it’s reading travel features as you plan your dream holiday or getting the down low on the latest in celeb land, make use of the internet while you have it at your disposal.
Where would we be without it?!
