Still Devastated By Jack’s Fate In Titanic? One Fan Has A Crazy (But Amazing) Conspiracy Theory

The movie celebrates its 18th birthday this week.

For starters, we can’t get over the fact that Titanic is 18 years old this week. It’s almost as crazy as the fact that one fan has developed a pretty in-depth conspiracy theory around the film’s entire plot.

We all loved Jack, we all envied Rose and our dreams were shattered when their love was torn apart. (We still argue that Rose should have moved over. There was PLENTY of room on that door).

But it seems we’re not the only ones holding out hope.

One fan Matt decided to analyse every aspect of the film… and he has a pretty original theory.

Jack was actually a time-traveller whose entire purpose was to stop Rose from taking her own life and changing the course of history.

Here’s how Matt breaks it down for us:

Jack had to meet Rose to stop her jumping off the ship. If Rose had jumped the Titanic would have stopped, the weather would have gotten warmer and the icebergs would have melted.

Jack has no money for the current day setting of Titanic, so gambles his way to winning a ticket on board the ship.

Jack tells Rose about fishing in Lake Wissota… a man-made lake that wasn’t built until 1917. Five years after the Titanic sank. He also mentions taking Rose on a roller-coaster on the Santa Monica pier, which wasn’t built until 1916.

Matt even defends his theory with the fashion considerations – with a futuristic haircut for Jack and a rucksack of belongings that wasn’t commonly owned by people until the 1930s.

Ladies and gentleman, we have proof. Jack was a time-traveller.

Or there was one researcher who took a very soft approach to their job in 1997.
