Today marks the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States.
The series of four attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda killed 2,996 people and injured over 6,000 others and caused at least $10 billion in property and infrastructure damage.
Once again, people reflect on one of the largest atrocities in recent times, sharing images, stories, and videos of remembrance to those who lost their lives and were injured in the attacks on September 11, 2001.

An image captured by the “only American not on earth that day” is doing the rounds once again online.
Astronaut Frank Culbertson took this shot from the International Space Station on September 11th, which was re-shared on Twitter two years ago to the day.
