Less stress, more success: 9 things more stressful than the Leaving Cert

The big day is within sight.

The Leaving Certificate begins tomorrow and whether you’re getting in some last minute cramming or remembering the days when you were, we can all relate to the stress associated with the exams However, in a bid to supply some much-needed relief for those preparing for tomorrow, we’ve put together a list of things that we think (thanks to a beautiful thing called hindsight) are more stressful than the Leaving Cert.   1. Game of Thrones Everyone you love, everyone you care about could be taken from you at any minute.   2. Waiting for your delivery You ordered nearly an hour ago and you’re hiding under your front window, waiting desperately to see the driver arrive.   3. Paying by card at the end of the month You’ve gone to the till and put your card into the machine, hoping and praying that you have enough money left to cover the cost.   4. Leaving your hair straightener on You’re ten minutes from home when a sudden feeling of fear comes over you. Have you left the straightener on? Should you go back and check? You might be late if you do.   5. Waiting for your phone bill You really tested the whole ‘unlimited data’ thing this month so you’ve been living in fear waiting to see if your network is going to drain your bank balance.   6. Period surprise You’re out and about for the day when all of a sudden – NO! Mother Nature has come a-knocking and you are not at all prepared. Not a tampon in sight, you scurry to find the nearest bathroom to make yourself an adult nappy from toilet paper.   7. Checking your bank account after a night out Not only are you nursing the mother of all hangovers, you then have to lick the wounds after your check your bank balance to find you definitely won’t able to afford that phone bill, no matter how much it is.   8. There’s no milk left You’re feeling super smug because you managed to get up early enough to enjoy a bowl of cereal, only to find that there is no milk left.   9.Packing your bags in supermarkets No gym session will ever prepare for you for the physical challenge that is packing your bags at the supermarket.   All jokes aside - the Leaving Cert can be a really intense time, and for those of you preparing to sit your exams, we want to wish you the absolute best of luck. In less than three weeks, this will all be behind you, and you can move on to stressing about all the things we just mentioned.
