All hail the pancakes.
Pancake Tuesday is only a matter of hours away and the only thing playing on our minds is what toppings we’re going to put on our crepes.
While this might be the most difficult decision we’ll make tomorrow, it can be made that little bit easier by knowing where you can get some for free.
There are six restaurants around the country that are giving away free pancakes for one of our favourite days of the year, and here’s how you can get your hands on some.
Stella Diner
The Stella Diner in Rathmines is giving out complimentary pancakes all day with topping of choice to each customer with the purchase of a main course, between 8am and 10pm, while stocks last.
Captain Americas
Captain Americas on Grafton Street, Blanchardstown and South Main Street Cork, are doing the same, giving free pancakes with every main course purchased.
Gino’s Gelato
Gino’s Gelato is offering free sugar & lemon and free Nutella crêpes from 9am to 12pm in stores nationwide.
Founder Jonathan Kirwan said: “We offer a wide selection of crêpes from the traditional to the extraordinary. Customer favourites include Gino’s chocolate Oreo crêpe (crushed Oreos, white chocolate sauce, fresh cream and Gino’s melted Oreo variegato), Gino’s Special (Nutella, sliced banana and chopped strawberries) or the Traditional (lemon, butter and sugar).”
Mackenzie’s
Mackenzie’s on Hanover Quay in Grand Canal Dock in Dublin will be serving their famous Pancake Platter from 12pm to 3.30pm and are giving away a feast for four lucky friends on Instagram today.
Union Cafe
Not exactly free but cheap as chips, Union Cafe in Mount Merrion is serving pancakes served with lemon & sugar available all day from the Deli for just €2 while stocks last.
