Why Rubberbandits’ Blindboy Deserves A Round Of Applause

"My generation".

Cathy Donohue

Those sticking to dry January may have stayed in on Friday and watched The Late Late but if you missed it, there’s one clip you should watch.

Blindboy, of Rubberbandits fame, was in studio to join a panel discussing the 1916 commemoration celebrations taking place this year.

He was a fantastic addition to the panel and one thing he said really stood out.

Talking about his generation, Blindboy made a few remarks which ring true for so many people in Ireland today.

He said: “My generation can’t afford houses, my generation can’t afford to have children. My generation are either leaving the country or jumping in rivers. That’s my generation, man”.

It’s no surprise then that people are calling for him to be president. Brilliant stuff altogether.
