Hopefully this won’t be pas de points all round.
That’s no points for you uncultured swines.
In case you weren’t aware, there’s a new movie about the Eurovision on the way to our Netflix screens and yeah, it’s either going to be entirely hysterical or pitifully woeful.
There is no in between.
The film stars Will Ferrell, is written by Will Ferrell, and is produced by Will Ferrell, but as of this week, there’s another Hollywood legend set to make an appearance in the movie.
Pierce Brosnan. Yeah, actual Pierce Brosnan.
This could go either way, really.
According to HN Entertainment, the James Bond and Mamma Mia! actor will be joining Ferrell and Rachel McAdams in the movie.
Directed by David Dobkin and produced by Adam McKay (of Step Brothers and Anchorman fame), the film will be shot in Iceland and Tel-Aviv, Israel and will incorporate everybody’s favourite Eurovision clichés.
We’re talking glitz, we’re talking glamour, we’re talking getting inordinately competitive and patriotic when your country’s song is doing well and painfully frustrated when you’re being rinsed by Sweden for the eighth year in a row.
Little is known about the film’s script just yet, but we can probably go ahead and presume that the above will feature heavily in one way or another.
And listen, Pierce Brosnan will be there too.
That should be enough.
