It’s fair to say the nation has a new hero after Teresa Mannion’s epic windswept news report went down a storm online.
The reporter went out on the frontline to bring us all the latest updates and advice regarding Storm Desmond, and quickly became an internet sensation as the news report did the rounds on Twitter.
She has now spoken out about the challenging broadcast and the phenomenal reaction.
Speaking to RTE TEN, she noted that the report was particularly tough because she and her crew were in the eye of the storm, battling “incessant rain and gale force winds” but that she was blown away by the “phenomenal response.”
She added that she was in a “crazy bubble on the prom being blown hither and thither, hoping to be heard over the winds.”
But she is taking it all in her stride, and said “it’s part and parcel of what we do.”
She also thanked her news crew saying she couldn’t have done it without them.

Is Teresa Mannion reporting the weather or making a mean and moody pop video? pic.twitter.com/D0vzAJt5fU
