New (and terrifying) details about Westworld’s second park have been revealed

“For those for whom Westworld is not enough…”

Just weeks away from its second season, HBO have been released a number of intriguing new details about Westworld – and the feudal Japan-themed park.

The series’ second park, Shogun World, was first revealed in the first season finale – though we didn’t know the official name of it then. Or the fact that it wasn’t all one word.

Since then, we’ve gotten a few little bits and pieces of it – including a glimpse of it in the most recent full length season two trailer.

The Delos Destinations website, which was hidden in the HBO show’s Super Bowl trailer this year, has now added a description for Shogun World.

And tbh, it sounds pretty terrifying.

It reads:

“For those for whom Westworld is not enough, the true connoisseur of gore can indulge their fantasies with the slash of a katana.

“Modeled after Japan’s Edo period, Shogun World offers a chance for guests to embrace their inner warrior, in a landscape of highest beauty and darkest horror.

“Let your true self take shape in the land where self-discovery is an art form.”

The website, which invites guests to “visit the parks”, also has a spot for four more parks (which, we’d imagine, are soon on the way).

The final photos are marked as entirely offline, with the phrase “Reservations closed to the public”.

As for what the other four parks could be, it’s not totally clear – but it could be a nod to some of the other parks from the films the show is based on.

The original movie did have a Romanworld, featuring the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, and Medievalworld, which focused on medieval Europe – and the sequel did have Futureworld.

  • Westworld’s season two returns later this month.
