A new season of Big Little Lies is reportedly in the works

Big Little Lies is finally returning to our TV screens

It's been four years since the show last graced our TV screens, but lead actress Nicole Kidman has confirmed there will be a third season.

Kidman was appearing at CME Group Tour Championship when she let the news slip.

The 'Lion' actress confirmed she is working on a third season of the show.

"I loved Big Little Lies because it sort of came along at a time in my life when I had my children and I was thinking I was going to retire and then this situation came along, where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce that show.

"Then all of you watched it and made it a massive success," she said.

The actress then shared the news fans have been waiting years to hear.

She then teased, "We will be bringing you a third one, just FYI."

'Big Little Lies' became one of the most talked about book-to-screen adaptions when it was first released in 2017.

The screen adaption of Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel was originally meant to be a limited series.

However, the show's major success was impossible to ignore so producers gave a second season the green light in 2018.

The series stars Nicola Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Zoe Kravitz, Laura Dern, and Shailene Woodley.

HBO has not yet confirmed a release date for season three of 'Big Little Lies' but we already cannot wait to tune in.
