What do you think?
The town of Riverdale has been being terrorised by a masked man since the end of season one.
The presumed robber stormed into Pops Chocklit shop and shot Archie’s dad, Fred Andrews.
But it wasn’t until the man – who later identified himself as the Black Hood – began targeting ‘sinners’ in the town that things really got nerve-wracking.
After nine episodes, the killer was finally unmasked in the second season’s mid-season finale.

It turns out it was Riverdale High’s janitor Joseph Svenson.
Archie and Veronica recently found out that the whole family of the school janitor was murdered by a serial killer called the Riverdale Reaper.
But when he was asked by an angry lynch mob to identify the murderer, he picked the wrong man – who was killed by the mob.
When he started sported the Black Hood, he was allegedly trying to rid Riverdale of evil by killing sinners – just to try and make up for his actions as a child.
Some things about the big reveal don’t quite add up, though, so we’re not too convinced.

so that reveal has me feeling like there's def more than one black hood #Riverdale

So my theories are either Betty’s Dad OR BROTHER is the black hood that’s why their targeting her specifically not sure why but the reason they used the janitor is to get him to get them off the real trail of who the black hood really is #Riverdale

First off, Archie has actually said it couldn’t be Svenson.
When the red-headed would-be sleuth and Veronica previously confronted the school janitor, Archie was quick to point out that Svenson had the wrong colour eyes – so it couldn’t be him.
so disappointed in the riverdale black hood reveal 😢😩 #riverdale

#CWRiverdale tbh janitor svenson did not look like the black hood, the eyes were different… right? i think the real black hood cut off his finger and blackmailed him or something. i think the real black hood is still alive 🤔🤔

I Mean think about this…
Mr svenson ACCUSED the Wrong man and got that man KILLED
WHAT IF the Black Hood the real Black Hood threatened Mr svenson to act as the Black Hood
And then
Mr SVENSON WAS NOW THE ONE ACCUSED AND HE GOT KILLED.
He suffered the same faith#Riverdale— 요미 & nome (😎) (@crackedaeongie) December 14, 2017
Svenson has only really featured in the last couple of episodes – he’s on the show for three episodes, according to IMDB, including the mid-season finale.
Despite being a name that often came up as a possible candidate, revealing Svenson as the ‘big bad’ of the season seems more than a bit anticlimactic.
Especially after the first season plot twist that revealed Jason Blossom was actually murdered by his own father.

INVOLVES SPOILERSI think Joesph was not the black Hood, I think he was set up by the black Hood and just like the Riverdale Reaper, the wrong man was killed

After the episode ended, many fans began to wonder if the real Black Hood would be revealed down the line in the series.
Or maybe that Svenson was actually blackmailed into the killer confession by the real culprit.
The Black Hood reveal tonight was … underwhelming? I just expected more of a shock and instead it was " oh … okay." I really hope it turns out to be someone else and this is just a misdirect for now. #Riverdale

plot twist: 'mr. svenson' was NOT the REAL black hood and that is why the season is not over yet… maybe he was forced to pretend to be the black hood; i mean something felt off about the whole thing… #riverdale pic.twitter.com/XrChM0FDhl

Svenson was the black hood? He doesn’t even have green eyes, Is there some sort of secret cult of black hoods we don’t know about? #Riverdale

There’s even a theory that there could be more than one Black Hood.
Whatever the answer is, we’ll be waiting a while to find out the truth.
River dale returns from the mid-season break on January 17 in the United States.
