This may be their final chapter, but they’re just getting started.

Netflix has just given Grace and Frankie fans a first look at what to expect from the show’s final episodes.

The long-running series is set to come to an end on 29 April after seven seasons on the streaming platform.

The show captured the hearts of viewers around the world with its story about two women who end up becoming best friends when they discover their husbands have been in a relationship with each other behind their backs for years.

Over the years, Grace and Frankie, played by Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin (real-life besties), have shown viewers what it means to live life to the fullest through their many ups and downs. And while it might be the end of the show, it looks like it’s only the beginning for the characters.

An official synopsis reads: “Grace and Frankie formed an unlikely and unbreakable bond as they faced uncertain futures head-on, and hand-in-hand. They’ve laughed together, cried together, did shrooms together, and twice-over became successful entrepreneurs together.

“A history-making 94 episodes later, Grace and Frankie continue to show themselves, their families, and their fans what it means to live life to the fullest, fearlessly and unapologetically.

“Here’s to seven seasons of laughs, tears, mood-enhancers, and good vibes. And, as Grace and Frankie would say, f**k it. This may be their final chapter, but they’re just getting started.”

Speaking about ending the series, creator Marta Kauffman told Entertainment Weekly:

“The show was always at its heart about starting your life over at any point, and the fact that these women were in this age group just added to the urgency of starting over. But we didn’t set out to do literally a show about two older women.

“They just happened to be older women who were going through this, and then we got to explore all the stuff about sexuality and vaginas and all that stuff. We were able to explore all of that because of the age of them.”

She added that she hopes viewers will “feel like they’ve been on a fulfilling journey” after the final episode.

With a soon-to-be 94 episodes over the course of seven seasons, Grace and Frankie is now Netflix’s longest running series.

Season seven part two premieres Friday 29 April on Netflix.
