Brendan O’Connor will reportedly be making a big announcement on The Saturday Night Show later this evening.
The TV presenter is reportedly going to make an announcement on the show, and speculation is rife as to what it will be.
According to the Irish Daily Mail rumours have been swirling that O’Connor will reveal that he will be stepping aside in favour of a new show to be headed by Ray D’Arcy.
D’Arcy joined RTÉ earlier this year after making the move from Today FM.
According to the report, O’Connor will “clarify things once and for all” on tonight’s show.
“Look, it’s been a great five years,” O’Connor told The John Murray Show back in January.
“Equally, I would say the numbers are up hugely on last year which is unusual in television at the moment. There’s a lot more we could do, but it’s whatever RTÉ decide in their wisdom,” he continued.
“If they think Ray D’Arcy doing an Ant and Dec-style show is what is required, they’ll decide.”
