It’s a far cry from his squeaky-clean High School Musical days but rumours are circulating this week that Zac Efron was on his way to buy drugs when he was attacked earlier this week.
The star and his bodyguard allegedly got into a fight with three other men after their car ran out of fuel in a rough area of Los Angeles in the early hours of Monday morning. It had been claimed that Zac, who was punched in the face, and his bodyguard were confronted after the actor threw a bottle out the window of the car while waiting on a tow truck.
Police were called to the scene but no arrests were made because officers saw it as a case of “mutual combat”.
However, friends of the actor have now expressed fears that Efron was in the Skid Road area to buy drugs, rather than en route to a sushi restaurant as he had originally claimed.
TMZ are reporting that the area in which the incident occurred is notorious for drug dealing and his friends are now “worried sick”. Efron entered rehab twice last year, reportedly to beat a cocaine habit, and has since proclaimed to be “totally committed” to staying sober.
