Vogue Williams can add popstar to her CV
The podcaster teamed up with her dear friend and co-host Joanne McNally to release their charity single ‘Good Girls.’
Though the duo probably knew they would have some success with their mini-project, something tells us they never imagined it would blow up like this.
Their new single reached number one on the Irish iTunes charts within 24 hours of being released, with Vogue branding its popularity “insane” and “wild.”
Vogue and Joanne decided to release the single following the reaction they had been getting when performing the track at their live shows with all proceeds going to Unicef Ireland and Unicef UK.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon the mum of three extended her gratitude after the song soared to the number one spot on the Irish iTunes charts.
Addressing her followers, Vogue said, “Thank you, thank you, thank you. My bongo player Joanne is thrilled, I’m thrilled! I’m thrilled about the autotune, ehm, it’s amazing.
“All money is going to Unicef Ireland and Unicef UK — so thank you, thank you, thank you — thank you again, this is wild.”
Sharing a picture of the charts, which show Good Girls at number 1, Joanne simply penned, “Excuse me!!??”
People have been having fun with the tune as content creator Marcella O’Meara, who reimagined what they would have been like in the studio together.
In the clip, he pretends to be Vogue while singing into the microphone and applying lipgloss.
He portrays Joanne playing the keyboard and observing before downing a glass of wine, while back as Vogue he vapes and hoists up a boom box.
The podcasters clearly found the skit funny as they commented on the video Vogue said it was “brilliant” while Joanne said, “I’m just stan-ing away there happily.”
