Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard leave fans cringing after awkward reunion

Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard just lived out one of our worst nightmares - but it was filmed.

Maura has been fulfilling the role of presenter for all things social media, and of course the two were going to be on camera together at some point - but the cringe was off the charts.

Curtis broke the thick silence broke by asking: "How's the family?" Maura kept things polite but that didn't mean the tension wasn't smothering the pair.

It marked the first time the former couple had worked together since dating for nine months after leaving the Love Island villa in 2019.

Their split in 2020 turned bitter when Curtis was accused of cheating on Maura and then she later grew close to her 'Dancing on Ice' partner, Alex.

"Hello everyone I'm now joined by our next Islander to leave the villa, who is the lovely Lisa's partner, Curtis."

The awkwardness continued when Maura began the task at hand and said: "Long time no see Curtis, yeah I'm good thanks, how are you?"

Curtis said he was "gutted to be out" to which the Irish woman replied: "Because you're obviously a competitive person.

"You were coupled up with Lisa, but you were clearly getting to know some of the other girls, a lot of flirting going on." One word: yikes.

The two did manage to get some banter in there as at one point Maura teased that Curtis “still has no balls”, to which he responded, “You would know!”

He also brought up the issue of his snoring in the villa, asking: "Do I snore?"

"I don't know," she replied. "I mean I can't remember. It's that long ago, honestly."

At least it's over and done with now and the two can never meet again if they choose but to be honest we'd like to see them take on I'm A Celeb together!
