Channing Tatum is the cover star for the upcoming June issue of GQ, and the actor has given the publication a very frank interview about his relationship with alcohol, among other things.
Tatum, who is set to land in Ireland this Friday for a special Trinity College visit with 22 Jump Street co-star Jonah Hill, told the magazine: “I probably drink too much, you know. My wife, that’s what she bought into … I’m probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic, I guess.”
The White House Down star added: “There’s probably a tendency to escape. I equate it to creativity, and I definitely equate it to having a good time.”
Channing, 34, welcomed his first child with wife Jenna Dewan in May of last year and said that having a baby has helped him cut back. He also stated that he wouldn’t drink for a period of four months this year, while he films the sequel to Magic Mike. “Then, at the end of that movie, it’s go time,” he said.
