Hugh Grant’s idea of a happy marriage is seriously questionable

SERIOUSLY?

Cathy Donohue

Just lovely.

Hollywood regular Hugh Grant is often cast as the dashing rogue people love to hate: the irrepressible Daniel Cleaver in Bridget Jones and the infinitely more likeable William Thacker in Notting Hill.

As a popular actor, his personal life is the subject of much interest, particularly his romantic exploits.

Grant dated Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years but they went their separate ways in 2000.

He and Jemina Khan were a couple for three years from 2004 to 2007.

Grant subsequently dated Tinglan Honga, a receptionist, and Anita Eberstein, a TV producer, with whom he had two children each.

Although he has never married, he seems to think he knows what it takes to make a happy union.

A little surprising then that he’s confused the concept of marriage, which is of course that you remain faithful to one person.

Steering away from monogamy, Grant said in a recent interview with Howard Stern:

“I always admire the French and the Italians who are very devoted to their marriages.

“They take them extremely seriously, but it is understood that there might be other visitors at 5 o’clock in the afternoon.”

“You just never boast about. They never say anything, but that’s what keeps marriages together”.

Maybe not Hugh, maybe not.
