“Always do what is right for you and your kids.”
Emmerdale’s Charley Webb had the best response to people who offer unsolicited parenting advice.
The 31-year-old, who plays Debbie Dingle on the ITV soap, has two children with her husband (and Emmerdale co-star), Matthew Wolfenden: 3-year-old Bowie and Buster, 9.
She took to Instagram today [June 27] to share a photo of Bowie sleeping on top of her, explaining in the caption why she didn’t see an issue with her children sleeping with her in her bed.
She wrote:
“I’ve found since having kids everyone’s got an opinion on what’s right and what’s wrong.
“‘Don’t let them in your bed, you’re making a rod for your own back.’ No, I will let them in my bed. And I will wake up to a tiny face resting on my arm because I want to.
“They’re babies and then they’re grown up, so much quicker than I ever thought was possible.
“Always do what is right for you and your kids. Not annoying people around you thinking they know best. They don’t.”

Earlier this year, Charley announced she and her husband are expecting their third child together.
She shared a photo of herself, Matthew, and their two children Buster and Bowie with the caption: “Number 3.”
Charley and Matthew have been married since last year.
The pair wed in a secret, surprise ceremony after beginning a relationship in 2007. Matthew, who plays David Metcalfe in the soap, and Charley told their guests that they were celebrating her 30th birthday.
When they all arrived, the pair revealed that they were actually getting married.
