Dolly Parton has a relatable reason for not answering her texts

Appearing on the Drew Barrymore Show, she addressed the story going around that she's almost impossible to get an answer from.

Dolly explained that she is "a low-tech girl in a high-tech world".

"I don’t want to talk to everybody that wants to talk to me. I don’t text because I don’t want to have to answer.

"If somebody calls me, I’ll answer it if I want to talk to ’em or I’ll call ’em back when I can. Otherwise, I’ve got too much to think about than to clutter my mind up with everything else," she said.

Dolly explained that this has nothing to do with age or a lack of understanding, in fact, quite the opposite, it's all down to personal preference.

"I’m certainly not a stupid person. I could learn it if I wanted to, but I’d rather just have my fax machine [and] call in my creative stuff to my crew," the 77-year-old said.

"And I’ve got the best crew in the world and I surround myself with great people, but I just don’t have time to just sit with my face in the phone all day."

Miley Cyrus even faxes the country legend

Plenty of folks have said that Dolly prefers the old-fashioned method over the use of a mobile phone as her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus, said the same thing back in 2020.

Speaking to Seth Myers on his late-night talk show, the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer was discussing her T-Mobile advert that ran before the 2020 Super Bowl.

During the conversation, the topic of Dolly just happened to crop up.

"It was amazing because, you know, she was doing it for the phones yet every time I coordinate and kind of communicate with Dolly, it’s still through fax," Miley said.
