Drew Barrymore knows a good movie when she sees it

The actress and talk show host came across her 1998 film ‘The Wedding Singer’ which she starred in with Adam Sandler and had a very emotional reaction.

Posting to Instagram, the 48-year-old revealed just how much she loved the flick as it played on the TV in the background.

“The Wedding Singer came on my TV as I was getting ready to leave the house and I had to take in this moment and watch it,” Drew wrote in her caption, going on to address her costar in the 1998 classic.

“We made such a good movie,” she said in the video, through tears. “I love you so much, Adam Sandler. Happy New Year.”

If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching ‘The Wedding Singer,’ we’ll give you a quick run down; Adam’s character, Robbie Hart, is a wedding singer who’s hit a bit of a rough patch.

After being left at the altar by his girlfriend Linda, he begins to believe that love just doesn’t exist.

Enter Drew as Julia Sullivan, a young woman still full of hope that he meets at one of the weddings he’s playing.

Julia is engaged to Glenn Gulia, played by Matthew Glave, and their relationship is less than ideal so you guessed it, Drew and Adam’s characters fall in love with a few bumps along the way.

At the end of her Instagram post, Drew pans the camera to her TV, to show viewers that she is watching the iconic scene at the end of the film, in which Robbie serenades Julia on a plane to Las Vegas and wins her over once and for all.

The film was the start of a trio of romcoms starring the actor and actress as they went on to star in 50 First Dates and Blended together.
