Angelina Jolie is ready to leave Hollywood behind
In fact, she said given the chance to change her past she wouldn’t even become an actress in the first place.
In an interview with WSJ Magazine, Angelina said: “I wouldn’t be an actress today. When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much.
“Because I grew up around Hollywood, I was never very impressed with it. I never bought into it as significant or important.”
The actress also explained that she’s ready to leave Hollywood altogether and make a new home for herself thousands of miles away from the bright lights.
So, where does she want to relocate to? Cambodia.
Explaining her reasoning behind the move, Angelina said: “It’s part of what happened after my divorce. I lost the ability to live and travel freely. I will move when I can.
“I grew up in quite a shallow place. Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place. So you seek authenticity.”
The 48-year-old admitted that she’s not dating and doesn’t really even have a social life in LA, instead, she said her children were like her friends.
“They are the closest people to me in my life, and they’re my close friends,” she said, “We’re seven very different people, which is our strength.”
Though Angelina isn’t planning a future in the movie industry, at the moment she’s filming the Maria Callas biopic and has her own fashion line in the works called Atelier Jolie.
