Yes, really.
There’s a bookstore in Canada that’s filled with adorable kittens who are up for adoption – and we’re booking our flights over now.

“It’s a perfect fit having the cats here. It just makes the space feel cozier,” Ellen Helmke, the owner of Otis & Clementine’s Books & Coffee, told Insider.
“Sometimes people come in just to see the cats and sometimes people don’t even know that cats are here. It’s very cute.”
She added that she had first started fostering the kittens at the shop in May 2019 – and she makes sure each of the adorable animals has had their shots, and is socialised with the customers who come in and out of the store.

Helmke said that the kittens are all provided by a local rescue group, South Paw Conservation Nova Scotia (SPCA) – and since she started the programme in 2019, they have had a 100 per cent adoption rate.
“I usually only have the kittens for a couple of weeks on average, and then they get adopted,” she said, adding that 30 cats have been adopted from her shop.
“The interest in each one is amazing. As soon as we get new cats in people are like, ‘I want to get my application and send it in!'”

Ultimately, the bookstore owner told the publication that the fostering programme has been a big win – both for the shop and for the adorable animals.
“It draws customers to the store, the kittens become socialized, and they easily find homes,” Helmke said.
