New Mexican beauty vlogger Alexa Mitchell has built a career around the power of makeup.
In an interesting social experiment, Alexa took to Tinder to see whether no make-up selfies or perfectly filtered images would get more attention.
She began by sharing three images where she wasn’t wearing any make-up. Alexa then swiped right 100 times and this led to sixteen matches and a couple of messages.
The popular vlogger then edited her photos using an app called Relook which made her teeth whiter, skin smoother and camouflaged any blemishes.
This then led to 100 matches and in addition, a lot of the guys she matched with made the first move on the messaging front.
Although Alexa did receive more of a reaction from the edited photos, she said she was happy to see that the no make-up photos also received matches.
Speaking to metro.co.uk, she said: I feel like the experiment shows that men who use dating apps like Tinder are more responsive to a cleaner more flawless appearance, not necessarily heavier makeup and exaggerated features”.
