An accurate representation of prison life, sure.
Last night, Sally Metcalfe was finally released from prison.
Emotional and totally over the top scenes showed the Weatherfielder almost get killed and eventually return home to to a poorly misspelled banner.
It was all going on.
Except, most of it was a bit of a mess really and Sally deserves better.
Here’s a play-by-play of what went down.
Sally was hanging out in her prison cell, as she is wont to do while being locked up prison, waiting to be let out.
However, as she’s about to make her move, Marcia shows up with a shank and goes to seriously maim (or potentially even murder) Sally.
Terrified, Sally begs for her life while Marcia shouts: “Seven days of segregation, plus loss of privileges. I missed the end of Long Lost Family because of you.”
Standard.
Thankfully, Sally’s convict mate Jodie then shows up and hits Marcia around the head with something inside of a sock and suddenly everything’s OK.
Except, people found issue with the scene… because of course they did.
According to them, Marcia being sent back to the same cell as Sally having attacked her not that long ago wasn’t entirely realistic given the UK prison system.
Also, Sally probably had the fastest turnaround for a prison release in the history of the world.
Good for her.
So they put violent offenders, who have been isolated, back in the cell with the person they assaulted? Really? #corrie

Others were simply confused that Sally decided to hit up the Rovers immediately after getting out.

At least let Sally have a nice bath and get in her pjs with a cup of tea. Why on earth would they think she'd want to stay in the Rovers? #corrie @CoroStreetBlog
