Ahhhhh.
As most Coronation Street fans will agree, Rita Tanner is an institution on the soap and the idea that her character could be killed off came as a major shock recently, even kicking off a #SaveRita social media campaign.
My campaign to #SaveRita worked!

Two months ago, Rita was told she had a brain tumour and viewers had been waiting to see the outcome of recent medical tests.
Tonight, doctors gave her the happy news that the tumour was benign and there were emotional scenes in The Rovers as the Kabin stalwart shared the good news.
Hooray, Rita is going to be okay!! ?#Corrie #Rita #Gemma pic.twitter.com/6SGgpbfvST

In addition to a delighted Rita, Gemma who was determined to be at her side regardless of the outcome and Audrey, viewers were also over the moon with the news.
A number of happy Corrie lovers took to Twitter to share their relief.
