This Author Made A Fortune Out Of Her Break-Up With this Controversial Piece of Advice

Talk about a silver lining.

Her

Abba nailed it.

Breaking up is never easy, (we) know, but (we) have to go…

Unless we’re financially dependent on our other half.

In fact, if you live with your partner – breaking up could mean facing a lot of debt while working out your next steps.

For author Paulette Perhach, when she broke up with her boyfriend, she admitted that she was broke.

Speaking to Mashable, she said:

“I had a little over $100 to my name, I owed my mom $1200, I owed my boyfriend $2000.

“It’s a terrible feeling to have to rely on someone else.”

Instead of wallowing in her literal misfortune, Perhach decided to write an essay on her cautionary tale – warning women to invest in ‘A Story of a F*ck Off Fund’.

The advice?

Perhach advises people to have a secret stash of cash should your relationship take a detour down-south.

Releasing a book with her advice, Perhach says she hopes her advice will help others gain financial independence in the case of a break-up:

“If any man ever hit you, if anyone ever sexually harassed you, you’d tell him to f*ck right off. You want to be, no, you will be the kind of woman who can tell anyone to f*ck off if a f*ck off is deserved, so naturally you start a F*ck Off Fund.”

So what’s the best thing about being over an ex?

Well if you’re Perhach, it’s making a career move post-partum that might benefit someone else, while stabilising your bank account:

“You need to love yourself enough to get out of that situation and make a plan to never put yourself in that situation again.”
